Managing the operations of your restaurant is no mean feat. From sales to discounts, tips and orders, there's a ton of data to keep track of! That's where our new Toast connection can help. With this brand-new connection, you can link your Toast account to Syft to pull through reams of vital data that you can then visualize, analyze, and report on. Let's see how this works.

Get connected

As we are in the beta-testing phase of our Toast connection, you will need to reach out to your account manager to request access. If you're keen to get involved in beta testing, please don't hesitate to reach out! This testing is critical to our development of a truly beneficial data connection.

To apply to get connected, navigate to Connections under Configure.

You can then select "Add connection" and "Connect external data."

Scroll down until you see Toast and then request access.

What happens once you are granted access

Once you have requested access, our team will review your case and determine whether you will be able to become a beta tester. If so, you will be notified and can proceed to connect your Toast entity.

💡Pro Tip:

Make sure you read all the information outline in the "Let's link your Toast Restaurant" section.

You will be prompted to log into Toast and, once you've logged in, you can select the relevant locations that you would like Syft to pull through. You will also receive an email about the new connection with a link for you to complete your account setup. Once you've activated that link, Syft will begin to retrieve your Toast data.

📓Note:

It might take a few minutes to pull through your data initially, but future refreshes will be much faster.

What data will you see?

Take your Toast data to the next level

Once you've connected your Toast account, you can begin to focus on the data that's most critical to your restaurant. Here are some suggestions of how you can use this data to your advantage in Syft:

  • Dashboards: visualize information about your customers, tips, orders, and sales alongside accounting information

  • KPIs: analyze your restaurant data alongside other key metrics

  • Ledgers: build complex tables across both financial and non-financial information, including operational data from your Toast account

  • KPI Scorecards: add specific restaurant data as criteria in KPI scorecards

  • Forecasting: plan for future scenarios for your restaurant using key information from Toast

  • Budgeting: include operational restaurant data in your budgets

In addition, you can combine these reports, graphs, and analytics in a collaborative Live View report that updates in real-time to share with your team or other stakeholders. Or, if you prefer, you can create an Excel, Word, or PDF report pack, which you can share via email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or even WhatsApp.
