Invite users to Syft and assign roles so that they can view data that is relevant and useful to them.

Users allows you to add other people to your Syft account. Users can be in the form of your staff, investors, owners or clients. You can set varying permissions for each user.

Invite users

From "Settings", you will see a tab titled "Users". If you click on "Users", you will land on the "Your organization" top tab where you have the ability to invite someone by clicking the "Invite user" button.

After clicking the button, add the user's email address. Secondly, choose one of the pre-loaded internal roles for the user: either owner, admin, staff or client. Finally, select the entities that you would like to give the user access to.

This applies to both individual entities and consolidations. Bear in mind that if you do add a user to a consolidation, you need to invite them to the underlying entities that make up that consolidation too.

šŸ’” Pro Tip

Visit "Home" and click the arrow next to the entity name to see who has access to that entity.

The user will receive an email inviting them to Syft once you click "Invite". If a user has not accepted your invite, you will see that their status still shows as "Invited". You then have the option to resend the invite.

The "Your organization" and "External organizations" top tabs will allow you to see the status of each invited user. If their name reflects under "Name" it means they have accepted the Syft invite. You can see which entities the user has access to as well as the roles that they have been assigned.

You can delete users from your account, however, this will only remove them from your organization. Deleting users will not remove their access to certain entities. You will need to click on "Manage Entity Access" under "Access" to remove entity access. Lastly, owner roles cannot remove other owner roles.

šŸ’” Pro Tip

While Syft has a set of standard user roles, you can also create your own custom roles under the ā€œInternal rolesā€ top tab.

You can view the permissions of each user role under the "Internal roles" top tab

Alternatively, you can create custom roles by clicking "Create role". The custom role function allows you to set detailed user permissions. You can also select which visualizations and reports can be viewed by the user in question.

White labelling

If your organization has enabled white labelling, invited users will receive an email using your organization's sub-domain or hosted domain.

External users

Inviting users to "Your organization" will assign an internal role to that user. Alternatively, you may share data with users that form part of a separate Syft organization, without inviting them to your own organization, under the "External organizations" top tab.

The pre-loaded roles available for external users include accountant, auditor, oversight, account and transaction. You can view the permissions of each of these user roles under the "External roles" top tab.
