MYOB is a platform that meets a myriad of business needs. MYOB has a ton of value to offer, including customers and employee information, supply chain, finances and accounting information. With MYOB, everything is connected in one place so that you can make decisions with confidence and then scale, adapt and grow.

Syft and MYOB

The Syft-MYOB integration unleashes tons of value from your MYOB data, unlocking all of the features available on Syft including reports, visualizations, consolidations, forecasts, budgets, valuations and benchmarks. The integration with MYOB pulls through journal level data. This provides more detailed financial insight and a deeper understanding of your data. One must note that no customer or product data is pulled through from MYOB to Syft

The Syft integration with MYOB is only supported for MYOB Business users. If any desktop version such as AccountRight is used, you as the user will have to ensure that your data has been uploaded to MYOB Business through the MYOB desktop to cloud conversion.

How to connect a MYOB entity to Syft

To connect your MYOB entity to Syft, follow the step-by-step guide:

  1. Click "Add entity" at the top right of your screen.

  2. You will now be redirected to the add entity setup page, where you can click on “MYOB”.

  3. The MYOB login page will pop up where you will be prompted to fill in your user email address and password.

  4. Once you have signed into your MYOB account, you will be prompted to select the entity that you wish to add.

  5. Next you will be taken to the entity setup screen, where you can select the industry classification of your entity which is used in our benchmarking feature.

Your MYOB Entity has now been added to Syft. This allows you to transform your accounting data into financial reports and insights.

Data mismatches

In the case of data mismatches between MYOB and Syft, the following steps must be followed to potentially resolve the mismatch:

  • Disconnect the entity by navigating to "Home". Click on the three dots next to the entity and then click the "Disconnect entity" option, shown in the image below.

  • Once the entity has been disconnected, you can reconnect the entity again. Reconnect the entity by following the steps explained in How to connect a MYOB entity to Syft.

📓 Note

If a desktop version of MYOB such as AccountRight is used; double check that the entity is synced with MYOB Business. Syft integrates with the cloud version and the connection between the Desktop and Cloud version must be updated to ensure data is pulling through accurately.

Since Syft integrates directly with MYOB Business, we unfortunately cannot ensure that data captured with AccountRight will always be accurate.
