Roles: Owner, Admin, Staff and optional on custom roles

Plans: Available on Standard, Plus, Advanced and Scale

Reporting is the feature that brings most users to Syft. When creating reports, you want to keep it simple. In line with this, there are two options for reports on Syft: templates or entity-specific reports. Let's take a look at how these differ and when you would likely use each type.

  1. Template reports can be used for any entity. You create a template once and then reuse the same template for multiple entities. Since you can use a template report for any entity, fewer options are available when setting it up. For example, you can only select one P&L layout and one time period.

  2. Entity-specific reports are used to download or create live views for entities you select. Since the entities are selected upfront, there are more options when creating the report. For example, you can assign more than one P&L layout within the same report. Entity-specific reports also allow content from more than one entity to be included in the same report.

Create a report

To create a new report, do the following:

  1. Click on "Create"

  2. Choose between a template report and an entity-specific report

Let's break down the different steps according to your choice of template.

Template reports

The template choice is useful for creating simple templates that work for any entity. However, these templates don't include all the features available in entity-specific reports. Once you've made this selection, a dialogue box will open where you can select the contents you would like to include in your report. The contents can selected from:

  • Summary

  • Visualize

  • Financials

  • Analyze

  • Forecast

  • Review

  • Upload

👪 Sharing

Template reports and entity-specific reports are automatically shared within your organization, provided the user has access to the entity.

Once you've chosen content to include in your template, you can rename the report if you would like to.

Entity specific

Entity-specific reports are useful for including budgets, forecasts, comparatives, and multiple entities and date ranges in the same report.

💡 Pro tip

The documents you can upload can be shared with other users in your organization.

When you are happy with your selections, select date ranges and click "Add to template." Your template will load on the right side of the screen.

💡 Pro tip

To reorder the contents of your template, click on the dots on the left-hand side of the box containing the report and drag this box to where you would like it to be.

Give your report a name and click "Finish" when you are happy.

What you can see under Reports

Under Reports, you can see all the pre-built templates and any templates you have created. You can see who each template was created by and then have the option to style your reports, generate an interactive live view, or download them to PDF or Excel.

📓 Note

When entities are shared with users, either through the "Users" page or via an invite, reports for those entities will automatically be shared.

Style Reports

You can style your templates to customize them to your organization. The following elements can be styled:

  • Theme: Choose from one of our beautifully designed themes or use your own organization's theme

  • Front Page: Select what you'd like to see on the front page, including logos and report name

  • Back Page: Set what you'd like to see on the back page, including custom text for addresses

  • Header and Footer: Choose header and footer options.

Styles can be used in PDF report packs, Live Views, and scheduled emails. You can save multiple styles and allocate different styles to specific templates or entities. You can set a style when downloading a report, generating a live view, or setting up a scheduled email.

💡 Pro tip

Styles are shared across your organization for easy access. If you create a style, other users with access to Report will have access to the styles you create.

Multi-language support

If you decide to download a report to PDF, you also have the option to translate this report into one of 12 available languages. You will notice a "Language" option when you click the download button. If you click on this, you can choose to translate your report into:

  • Spanish

  • German

  • Mandarin

  • Greek

  • Italian

  • French

  • Dutch

  • Afrikaans

  • Malay

  • Swedish

  • Portuguese

  • Japanese

You can then click "Download," and you will see that your report has been translated into the relevant language.

📓 Note

Syft does not translate account names since these are sourced from the integration provider and/or can be changed by the user. However, Syft does translate totals, categories, and equations.

Themes

Who can use this feature

Roles: Owners

Plans: Advanced and Scale

Custom themes on your reports are a great way to keep your brand consistent and to ensure your business keeps generating professional and beautiful reports.

How to implement custom branding in your dashboard

You can pick a color scheme and create custom branding. Using your custom theme, we will generate custom reports and financial statements for you. Your color scheme will also be implemented into your dashboards to keep your brand identity consistent.

The Advanced and Scale plans start with bespoke branding for your business or organization. Once you have signed up for one of these plans, your account manager will send you a custom theme and domain form.

To submit a custom theme request yourself, email themes@syftanalytics.com or complete and submit the custom theme and domain request form attached here. On this request page, you can add everything you would like to your custom theme, and our Design Team will implement it into your entity for you.

For Scale, this includes a custom domain that's white-labeled and removes anything associated with Syft Analytics. The Scale plan is for practices and organizations that need comprehensive security and deeper customization.

Custom branding themes and domains

At Syft, we know how important it is to get your branding right. Your brand represents your company or practice. It’s how people remember you and what you become—or have become—known for.

We take the branding further by generating a custom theme for your organization. This can include images that align with your brand, as well as a dedicated front and back page.

There are various domains to choose from. Once you've logged in, you'll notice many of the colors are different. Depending on your color scheme, we'll align this fully to your brand and tailor it to match what you would like your clients and staff to see.

The login screen is then branded with your logo, and you can see that the color palette within your dashboards aligns with your practice or business.
